Upcoming Fit Out Projects in Victoria

Victoria’s industry is booming with some cracking projects currently underway, and it doesn’t look like slowing down anytime soon. With a booming industry comes some great projects on the horizon, including the five we have showcased below.
Elizabeth Street Mixed Use Development | $600mil | Melbourne
Toyota Motor Corporation has submitted an application for the refurbishment of the current heritage-listed site they currently occupy along with the addition of four towers above with floor levels ranging from 15 – 22 storeys high. The entire 61,462 m2 floor area construction will provide:
- 1090 apartments (2 towers for residential accommodation, and two for students) 1413 sqm Toyota showroom
- Public gymnasium
- A leasable ground level retail area of 2957 sqm
- Car park area for 367 cars & 1372 bicycle spaces
- As well as a lounge, study, dining areas, library & rooftop terrace of 732 sqm total.

Saltwater Promenade Mixed Use Development | $20.5mil | Point Cook
The proposed construction is a mixed use development consisting of medium/high-density residential, retailers, child care centre, swimming school and medical centre. The construction will include car parking and landscaping.

Ferguson Street Mixed Use Development | $20.3mil| Williamstown
The project is a proposed demolition of the existing buildings to make way for the construction of a 69 dwelling, 5 story mixed used development. The project is to include RSL clubrooms complete with gaming, food & drink outlet and associated car parking & landscaping.

Proposed Flemington Road homeless centre. Source Urban Melbourne
Flemington Road Homeless Resource Centre & Accommodation Development | $49.5mil | North Melbourne
A development application has been submitted for St Vincent de Paul Society’s VincentCare to provide accommodation for more homeless via the partial demolition & construction of a 2-4 storey podium building to include ground floor retail premises, offices and extra accommodation. The project will also include a 7 storey residential apartment building above at 173-191 Flemington Rd to house 134 rooms. The breakdown below showcases their vision to bring relief to many homeless people.
- Existing use: Ozanam House & Bailly House over 2-3 levels
- Proposed: 11 level Homeless Resource Centre and Accommodation at 38.53 metres
- 134 dwellings: 60 x 1BR short stay, 48 x 1BR medium stay and 26 x 1BR long stay apartments
- 45 staff to service the Homeless Resource Centre and Accommodation building
- 22 car parking spaces within a basement level
- Proposed: 20 townhouses to Chapman Street consisting of 14 x 2BR and 6 x 3BR townhouses with 40 car spaces

Swanston Street Mixed Use Development | $40mil | Carlton
Proposed demolition of the existing car retail & service centre and construction of a 17 storey building to comprise of 179 apartments; 85 x 1 bedroom & 88 x 2 bedroom apartments with ground floor shop. Space has been set aside for 103 cars 16 motorbikes & 130 bicycles. Residential amenities area to include indoor lounge, gymnasium & outdoor area. Project materials to include pre-cast concrete, alucobond fascias, glazing, metal cladding & screening.
Stage: Development Application; Town planning application submitted, however, objections have been received. Appeal to be heard at VCAT.
