Project Spotlight: Residential

Each month, we put the spotlight on the progress of various projects in and around the state of Victoria. This time, we look at the Residential sector and the latest updates from three projects: the Liberty One apartments, Victoria Square and Burwood Brickworks.
Liberty One
Project: 24 storey apartments
Status: Construction
Developer: Bensons Property Group Pty Ltd
Architect: Elenberg Fraser Pty Ltd, CHT Architects PTY Ltd
Construction Start Date: January 2020
Construction End Date: January 2021
Value: $200 million
With a strong team and budget behind it, this brand-new apartment complex from Bensons Property Group is set for construction in early 2020. The Liberty One will have two towers with amenities such as a full gymnasium, library and cinema space, and will also provide a four-level basement car park for residents.
Aside from the interior, you can expect to see a wide range of external building elements to make this new location stand out from the crowd. There’s a lot going into this project, so there is a wide range of opportunities available, and we can’t wait to see the end result.
Victoria Square
Project: 3 buildings – 6, 23 & 25 storey apartments
Status: Construction
Developer: Growland Group Pty Ltd
Architect: Kavellaris Urban Design Pty Ltd
Construction Start Date: November 2018
Construction End Date: 4th quarter 2021
Value: $120 million
There are not two but three different buildings coming together as a part of this exciting project in Victoria Square. Acclaimed developer Growland is helming the construction of these spacious residences which hope to take advantage of their vibrant location to offer homeowners a dynamic life in the city.
Each tower will include modern facilities and associated works, with 419 apartments of various sizes and landscaping done around the area.
Construction has already commenced on these builds, but with a projected end of late 2021, there’s still plenty of time to get involved.
Burwood Brickworks
Project: 4 buildings – 4 storey apartments
Status: Construction
Developer: Frasers Property Australia
Architect: DKO Architecture Pty Ltd, NH Architecture Pty Ltd
Construction Start Date: August 2019
Construction End Date: November 2020
Value: $50 million
Last, but certainly not least, this is one of the most exciting works we’ve seen kicking off this year. Construction has begun on this four-building project in Melbourne’s renowned Burwood Brickworks community, with the Hacer Group leading the way as the appointed builder.
Across 267 apartments, we will see every expected facility along with stunning courtyards and other key features outside, with the first four buildings almost sold out and only six apartments remaining. The sustainability focus of the complex, complete with water recycling systems, solar panels and rooftop urban farm, make this an exciting project to be part of.
This location has been a big draw for investors and is primed to continue highlighting the best that East Melbourne has to offer.
