Brett Isard
Consultive Managing Director
Go to person for: Building, Property, Capital Markets & Project Management Recruitment Jobs. As well as responsibilities for the inner workings of Consultive (Operations, Marketing, IT, People & Partners).
An experienced industry professional, with over two-decades of experience helping both candidates' continue their career, knowing where the talent is for his clients, and growing people and Consultive.
On completing a Bachelor of Arts at Monash University and travelling overseas (London experience), I found a job at ANZ Bank and worked in Finance from 2001 to 2004. In 2004 I was presented with an opportunity to join Consultive and enter the world of recruitment. From the very beginning I have focused on permanent recruitment into the Victorian built environment. This gives me very strong knowledge of the industry, which certainly goes a long way towards helping candidates find a new role, and knowing where the talent is for my building company clients.
When given an assignment from a client to fill a job, my main focus is to get a full understanding of what they require - this is key to a successful outcome. Once I have this, I move into search mode, which involves using my expertise to source out candidates in the passive and active markets.
Identifying suitable candidates and understanding their individual motivations make this job highly challenging, though hugely rewarding. I enjoy the constant challenges of matching candidates with suitable clients, and seeing the positive impact I can make on the people I place into these roles.
I enjoy the constant challenges of working in a busy market where our clients require top talent, and enabling new clients to see the value in my service.
Titles of the people I place into roles include Development Managers, Project Managers, Analysts, Asset Managers, Capital Raising Executives, Fund Managers, Contract Administrators, Project Engineers and Site Manager / Supervisors . Personally I get a lot of satisfaction placing young people into their first or second career role, it’s a great feeling.
Being a father and husband, I try to spend as much of my spare time as I can with my family. I am a passionate Hawthorn supporter who tries to see as many matches as I can, and hit the snow trails in winter to enjoy some snowboarding.
